About AMW 2020

Athens Music Week (AMW) is a multifaceted music event created to support music education, enhance the sustainable development of local and regional music business, and create opportunities for music professionals to access international audiences.

Comprising an International Conference and a Festival of live music events, Athens Music Week is a week-long Music Marathon exploring local talent, the music scene, and the sounds of Athens, and setting the foundations for synergies of international collaboration among artists and music professionals.

Inspired by the unifying spirit of music and the geographical and historical significance of Athens as a cultural landmark, AMW envisions to connect Eastern & Western European music markets with those of the Middle East and beyond!

AMW is organized by Technopolis City of Athens and NPO MESO Music Events, in collaboration with the Association Fête Européenne de la Musique, the European networks HEMI – Hub for The Exchange of Music Innovation and JUMP – European Music Market Accelerator both co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union and in partnership with the Hellenic Network of the European Music Day Organisers

Athens Music Week 2020 – Phygital Edition

Adapting to the unprecedented consequences created by the covid-19 pandemic and the global quarantine, this second edition of AMW is fusing the digital with the physical world.

Decided only 78 days ago, the challenge was taken as a reaction to stay in tune, to discover new limits while seeking new ways to overcome obstacles, but also to test our own resilience and generate events in solidarity with other partners who share the same goals and needs!

More importantly perhaps, this phygital edition was made to share music, and to create even more reasons to meet in vivo as soon as possible!

The program of the International Conference includes 12 panel-discussions with 55 participants from across Europe, 5 webinars, 10 innovative music projects presentations, and storytelling. The Music events include 27 artist showcases from Greece and 16 other European countries!

All events will be live streamed on the various web channels of AMW and interactions will be available after each events with Live Q&A sessions for the online participants.

In conclusion, and as we use terms like interaction, resilience, solidarity or innovation, it is important to underline that this special #AMW2020 edition was made possible through a unique cross-promotional collaboration with many European partners and friends, that we would like to thank for their unconditional trust and their decisive support
