Goodbye Darjeeling are a young alternative rock band formed in Budapest, Hungary. Their British-influenced (“britpopish”) and highly emotional songs have been praised by various Hungarian music blogs as being particularly “anthemic” and mature.
After winning local talent contests in 2018, the bandʼs debut album “Total Confusion” was released in the summer of 2019, through funding by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary’s Hangfoglaló Program, which, the band feels, “is the biggest recognition for an emerging act in the country”. The album was nominated for IMPALA’s international “Independent Album of the Year Award” in early 2020. They’ve been performing live since 2017, at most venues in Budapest and also gaining festival slots (e.g. Sziget Festival) throughout Hungary.
They are yet unsigned, independent, DIY and still believing.
