Georgios Samaras (GR)

Dr Georgios Samaras is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Policy at the School of
Government and Policy, King’s College London. In 2022–23 he served as Lecturer in Political
Economy within the Department of Political Economy. He holds an MA and PhD in Political
Science from King’s College London, where his doctoral research focused on the Greek far-right
party Golden Dawn.
Alongside his academic career, he is an experimental electronic music artist specialising in
modular and FM synthesis. From 2011 to 2020 he performed as Plastic Flowers, releasing three
studio albums on Inner Ear Records, Crash Symbols and Native Sound. He has toured widely
across Europe and the United States, with performances at SXSW, Fun Fun Fest, the Royal
Academy of Arts and the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls.
